At the end of the day, we are just guys on a couch playing a game we love. We love the game of football, and we love to play the dynasty format of Fantasy Football, specifically. And we love to Scout. We’ve got years of experience watching film, and playing in dynasty leagues. We know what traits translate to fantasy points. Our philosophy is that if you scout well, you’ll dominate your draft. And if you dominate your draft, your dynasty roster will accrue value. That value gives you leverage in trade negotiations. And if you draft well and trade well, you should be in good position to win your league year after year and build a true dynasty. So we hope you'll let us help you do just that!
Our Story
In 2021, I (Matt Cooper) founded what was then called the Devy to Dynasty Film Room. The goal: to make film breakdowns on YouTube that would help others get ahead in Dynasty. I learned a lot in those couple of years about video editing, graphic design, and how to scout football players to get an edge in fantasy football. But after those first couple of years, a few things became apparent. First, I knew I needed a team. The channel had quickly grown to over 1,000 subscribers, and with a full-time job, a wife, and two kids I simply could not keep up with the demand for more content. So I recruited Matt Jackson, and Matt Rupert. And together we started the Devy to Dynasty Film Room Podcast in 2023. ​ The second important realization was that I knew I wanted to shift the brand from simply content to be consumed on a YouTube Channel, to a community that could be joined. I wanted to get to know our audience. This led us to rebrand to CouchScouts. This was a name that would be more accessible to people who don't play Devy or Dynasty but love to scout. And it also felt more like a community's name, rather than a YouTube Channel's name. Along with the rebrand, we launched our free Discord, which now has over 85 members and is active every day! ​ My final important realization was that I had a pretty strong track record of success over those first few years, especially scouting rookies. But it wasn't helping others to the extent that I wanted it to because my rankings and evaluations were not in writing, in a format that could be accessed during a rookie draft. So in 2024 we launched our very first Rookie Guide. It was a huge hit right off the bat, selling 40 copies in the first year, and will be a staple of our brand moving forward. ​ We want to continue to grow this community and build more and better resources for the people in it. But that takes time and it takes financial resources. So in the Fall of 2024 we launched this website, and our very first paid membership options! So come join the CouchScouts family today!
